David Coverdale, an English singer, gained prominence as the lead vocalist of the hard rock band Whitesnake, which he founded in 1978. Prior to Whitesnake, he served as Deep Purple’s lead singer from 1973 to 1976 before embarking on a successful solo career. Coverdale has also collaborated with renowned musicians such as ex-Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page on a 1993 studio album, and has performed with Thin Lizzy, Ozzy Osbourne, and Gary Moore. Interestingly, his mic technique inspired Freddie Mercury’s iconic half mic stand.
