David Keith Murray, an American jazz saxophonist and composer, is renowned for his extensive discography and innovative style. Since the mid-1970s, he has recorded with various labels and gained recognition for his tenor and bass clarinet performances. Currently residing in New York City, Murray’s notable works include albums such as “Murray’s Steps” and “Fast Life.” As a co-founder of the World Saxophone Quartet, he has collaborated with esteemed musicians like Jack DeJohnette and Randy Weston and is associated with the Black Arts Movement. Besides his musical career, Murray has a martial arts background, holding black belts in Taekwondo and Hapkido.
