David West, an American former professional basketball player, had a 15-season NBA career during which he played for the New Orleans Hornets, Indiana Pacers, San Antonio Spurs, and Golden State Warriors. He is most renowned for his tenure with the Warriors, where he secured two NBA championships in his last two seasons. A two-time NBA All-Star, West received the NBA’s Twyman-Stokes Teammate of the Year Award in 2018. Additionally, he was named to the NBA All-Rookie Team in 2004 and selected for the All-NBA Third Team in 2008. West, who played college basketball at Xavier University of Louisiana, was drafted by the Hornets in the 2003 NBA draft. Besides his basketball career, he is also recognized for his philanthropic efforts and passion for reading.
