Gopalakrishnan Padmanabhan Pillai, popularly known as Dileep, is a renowned Indian film actor, comedian, and entrepreneur who has made a name for himself in the Malayalam film industry through his comedic roles. Some of his most notable works include “Kunjikoonan,” “Meenathil Thalikettu,” “Kalyanaraman,” “Chanthupottu,” and “Two Countries.” Dileep has received numerous accolades, including the Kerala State Film Award for Best Actor, and has also found success as a film producer.
Kamal, a prominent figure in the industry, recommended Dileep to many directors, leading to his widespread recognition through successful movies like “Ee Puzhayum Kadannu” and “Sallapam.” Interestingly, Dileep adopted his screen name from the character he played in the 1994 film “Manathe Kottaram.”
