Alongside Cesar Chavez, she co-founded the United Farm Workers (UFW) and the National Farm Workers Association, striving to secure labor contracts, improved wages, and safer working conditions for farmworkers. Huerta played a significant role in the Chicano civil rights movement and created the UFW slogan, “SÃÂ, se puede” (Yes, we can).
