Eddie Garcia, also known as “Manoy,” was a highly respected Filipino actor, director, and producer with a remarkable career that spanned over seven decades. He appeared in nearly 700 film and television roles and was a prominent figure during the “Second Golden Age of Philippine Cinema” in the 1970s and early 1980s. Some of his most notable works include “Ganito Kami Noon, Paano Kayo Ngayon?,” “Atsay,” “Magdusa Ka,” “Sa Iyong Pagbabalik,” and “Rainbow’s Sunset.” Garcia received numerous awards from FAMAS, Gawad Urian, and the Film Academy of the Philippines. Besides his acting career, he was a talented painter and a founding member of Artista ng Bayan. In 2019, he held his own art exhibit. Eddie Garcia passed away on June 20, 2019, leaving a legacy as one of the greatest actors in Philippine cinema.
