Elisabeth Risdon, born Daisy Cartwright Risdon on 26 April 1887, was a talented English film actress with a captivating on-screen presence. Throughout her career, she appeared in more than 140 films from 1913 to 1952. Some of her most famous works include “High Sierra” (1941), “Abe Lincoln in Illinois” (1940), and “Mexican Spitfire” (1939). Additionally, she starred in notable films such as “The Roaring Twenties,” “Make Way for Tomorrow,” and “Crime and Punishment.” Her daughter Priscilla, also known as “Baby Jane,” followed in her footsteps, acting in several films during the 1930s and 1940s, though she did not achieve the same level of success as her mother. Elisabeth Risdon passed away on 20 December 1958.
