Fernando Vargas, a Mexican-American former professional boxer, gained prominence at a young age as the youngest junior middleweight titleholder in history. He held the title of two-time light middleweight world champion, with the IBF title from 1998 to 2000 and the WBA title from 2001 to 2002. Known as “The Aztec Warrior,” Vargas had a successful career, winning his first 14 bouts by knockout. Currently, he coaches his two amateur boxer sons and lives in Las Vegas with his wife and four children. In 2017, Vargas founded the Fernando Vargas Fighting Foundation, a non-profit organization aimed at helping youth.
