Sir Garfield Sobers, often considered the finest all-rounder in cricket history, is a former West Indian cricketer who captained the West Indies team. He holds numerous records, such as being the first player to hit six sixes in a single over in First-Class cricket. Sobers was inducted into the ICC Cricket Hall of Fame and was knighted for his contributions to the sport. In 2000, he was named one of the five Wisden Cricketers of the century and was declared a National Hero of Barbados. Sobers has authored several books on cricket and has an annual trophy named in his honor, awarded to the ICC Player of the Year. In recent years, he received the Sir Garfield Sobers Award for ICC Male Cricketer of the Decade. With 26 centuries to his name, Sobers’ exceptional all-round skills have earned him widespread recognition as the greatest cricketer of all time.
