Since our last update in 2019, George Strait has continued to solidify his status as the King of Country Music. In 2021, he released his 30th studio album, “Honky Tonk Time Machine,” which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart, making him the oldest artist to achieve this feat. The album also produced two number-one singles, “I Hate Everything” and “Every Little Honky Tonk Bar.”
Strait has also continued to tour extensively, selling out arenas and stadiums across the United States. In 2023, he embarked on his “Strait to Vegas” residency at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, which is scheduled to run through 2024.
In addition to his music career, Strait has also been active in philanthropy. In 2020, he donated $1 million to the MusiCares COVID-19 Relief Fund to help musicians who were struggling financially due to the pandemic. He has also supported numerous other charities, including the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the USO.
