Hank Ketcham, an American cartoonist, gained widespread recognition for creating the renowned comic strip “Dennis the Menace.” He was responsible for both writing and illustrating the strip between 1951 and 1994, earning the prestigious Reuben Award in 1953. Ketcham’s creation, the mischievous and precocious Dennis, became a household name throughout the United States. Besides the comic strip, Ketcham contributed to various adaptations, such as the 1980s animated TV series “Dennis the Menace” and a 1993 live-action movie. He also harbored a passion for fishing and conservation, serving as the Bighorn River Association’s president and designing a popular fishing lure.
