Hayley Leanne Okines (3 December 1997 รขยย 2 April 2015) was a British author and activist who raised awareness about the rare aging disease progeria. She published her autobiography, “Old Before My Time,” at the age of 14 and appeared in documentaries such as “The Girl who is Older than Her Mother” and “Childhood.” Okines also had a special friendship with pop star Justin Bieber, which brought further attention to the condition. Despite surpassing doctors’ predictions of her lifespan, she ultimately succumbed to the disease.
