English actor Ian Lavender gained prominence for his portrayal of Private Pike in the popular British sitcom “Dad’s Army,” which aired from 1968 to 1977. He has also appeared in other notable television shows such as “Oh, Doctor Beeching!”, “Benidorm”, “Casualty”, and “EastEnders”. Lavender declined a role in “Only Fools and Horses,” which was later taken by Nicholas Lyndhurst. Before embarking on his acting career, he studied at Bournville Technical College and the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. In addition to his on-screen work, Lavender is a skilled theatre actor and has performed in numerous stage plays.
