Jacinda Barrett, an Australian-American actress and former fashion model, was born and raised in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. She developed a passion for acting early on and went on to study drama at the Queensland University of Technology. Barrett began her acting career in Australian television shows before gaining wider recognition for her roles in films such as “The Human Stain” (2003), “Ladder 49” (2004), and “Poseidon” (2006). Her notable television roles include “The Following” (2013-2015) and “Bloodline” (2015-2017). Recently, she has starred in the Netflix series “Ginny & Georgia” (2021-present).
Throughout her career, Barrett has received several accolades for her performances. She was nominated for the Teen Choice Award for Choice Movie Actress – Horror/Thriller for “The Human Stain” (2003) and won the Australian Film Institute Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for “The Last Time I Saw Michael Gregg” (2009). In 2006, she received the Australians in Film Breakthrough Award.
In her personal life, Barrett has been married to actor Gabriel Macht since 2004, and the couple has two children together. She is actively involved in charitable organizations and is passionate about giving back to her community. In addition to her acting career, Barrett is a former competitive swimmer who represented Queensland at the national level. She is also a certified scuba diver, an outdoor enthusiast, and an accomplished artist with exhibited paintings.
