Jackie Butler is a former American professional basketball player who played as a power forward and center in the National Basketball Association (NBA). He was known for his physical strength and ability to play multiple positions. Butler played for several teams during his career, including the New York Knicks, San Antonio Spurs, and Houston Rockets. Some of his other notable achievements include winning the NBA Championship with the Spurs in 2005 and being named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the NBA G League in 2007. Additionally, he played college basketball at Coastal Carolina University.

Jackie Butler was given his name by his mother who was a fan of the late President John F. Kennedy and his wife Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis. Despite the fact that he was originally given the name “JaQuay” after being named “Jackie” by his mother, he later changed his name to “Jackie” in order to make it easier for others to pronounce.

One less-known fact about Jackie Butler is that he was one of the few NBA players who qualified for the league without completing high school. In 2003, the NBA began to strictly enforce its eligibility rules, which require players to be at least 19 years old and one year removed from their high school graduation in order to be drafted. However, at the time Butler declared for the draft in 2002, the eligibility rules were less strict and allowed some players to enter the league without completing high school.
