Jessica Hausner, an Austrian filmmaker, is renowned for her distinctive viewpoint and poetic storytelling. She gained international recognition in 2001 with her film “Lovely Rita,” which was screened at the Cannes Film Festival. Some of her most acclaimed works include “Lourdes,” a movie about a young woman’s journey to Lourdes and the miracles she experiences there, and “Amour Fou,” a historical drama centered around a poet’s suicide pact with a woman. Other significant films in her repertoire are “Hotel” and “Little Joe.”
Throughout her career, Hausner has received numerous accolades, such as the FIPRESCI Prize and Best Screenplay at the Cannes Film Festival. In 2023, she directed her first English-language film, “Little Joe,” which enjoyed a major U.S. release. Currently, she is working on her upcoming feature, “Club Zero,” a cult thriller starring Mia Wasikowska.
