Jim Craig, a former American ice hockey goaltender, was born on May 31, 1957, in North Easton, Massachusetts. He gained fame for his outstanding performance at the 1980 Winter Olympics, where he played a crucial role in the United States’ hockey team’s gold medal victory in a game famously known as the “Miracle on Ice.” Besides his Olympic triumph, Craig had a professional career in the NHL, representing the Atlanta Flames and the Boston Bruins. He was also a two-time NCAA champion and participated in the 1978 Ice Hockey World Championship as a member of Team USA. In 1999, Craig was inducted into the United States Hockey Hall of Fame. After retiring from hockey, he briefly served as a color commentator for NHL games before transitioning to a career in finance.
