Jimi Jamison, born Jimmy Wayne Jamison (August 23, 1951 รขยย September 1, 2014), was an American singer and songwriter who rose to fame as the lead vocalist for rock bands Target, Cobra, and Survivor between 1984 and 1989. Some of his most well-known performances include the songs “Burning Heart” from Rocky IV and “The Moment of Truth” from The Karate Kid. In addition, he sang the hit single “Eye of the Tiger” as the entrance music for Manny Pacquiao’s 2011 title fight. Jamison also co-wrote Survivor’s hit song “I Can’t Hold Back” and performed the theme song for the TV series Baywatch. He released two solo albums, “When Love Comes Down” in 1991 and “Empires” in 1999. Jamison passed away at the age of 63 from a heart attack.
