Joe Girardi, an American former baseball manager and catcher, had a successful playing career, starting with four seasons in the Chicago Cubs minor leagues system before advancing to the major league. Some of his notable achievements include batting .309 in 68 games with the Peoria Chiefs in 1986 and catching a perfect game. Girardi won the Manager of the Year Award in 2006 with the Florida Marlins, despite having a losing record – making him the only manager to achieve this feat. He also led the New York Yankees to a World Series championship in 2009, following in the footsteps of Joe Torre. Girardi managed the Phillies from 2020 to 2022, the Marlins in 2006, and the Yankees from 2008 to 2017, earning a reputation for his pin-striped pedigree and leadership skills.
