John Benitez, also known as “Jellybean,” is a multifaceted American musician, songwriter, DJ, remixer, and music producer who rose to fame in the 1980s and 1990s. He is best known for his remixes of popular songs, including Madonna’s “Like a Virgin” and ABC’s “When Smokey Sings.” Throughout his career, Benitez has collaborated with renowned artists such as Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, and the Pointer Sisters. Additionally, he served as the executive producer of Studio 54 Radio. In recognition of his contributions to the industry, Benitez was inducted into the Dance Music Hall of Fame in 2005.
