John Malkovich won the attention of many for his supervillain portrayals in the movie ‘Dangerous Liaisons’ (1988) as the sinister Vicomte de Valmont. In Clint Eastwood’s ‘In the Line of Fire’ (1993), he received critical praises as well as nominations for the Oscars and the Golden Globe for his role as a psychotic political assassin.
He was one of the stars in the film ‘Being John Malkovich’ (1999) which was named after himself.
He quipped upon seeing the script of his new film, ‘Being John Malkovich’, and thought of its title as a one-line joke, which he eventually reckoned as a 100-page joke.
