Johnnie Lee Cochran Jr. (October 2, 1937 รขยย March 29, 2005) was a prominent American attorney and civil rights activist, most famous for his leading role in the defense and criminal acquittal of O.J. Simpson for the murder of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend Ron Goldman. This high-profile case brought Cochran international recognition, making him one of the most well-known lawyers globally. Throughout his career, he represented numerous high-profile clients, including Michael Jackson, Tupac Shakur, and Sean Combs. Additionally, Cochran co-founded the National Black Prosecutors Association, served as a member of the Los Angeles Police Commission, and established the Cochran Firm, one of the largest personal injury law firms in the United States. He passed away at the age of 67 on March 29, 2005.
