Justine Bateman, an American actress, writer, and director, gained fame for her portrayal of Mallory Keaton in the popular TV sitcom “Family Ties” from 1982 to 1989. She has also appeared in films such as “Satisfaction” (1988) and “Violet” (2020), the latter of which she wrote and produced. Her other television credits include “Desperate Housewives,” “Californication,” and “Arrested Development.” In the late 1990s, Bateman briefly studied computer science at UCLA before returning to the entertainment industry, an experience she credits with enhancing her problem-solving skills.
