Karla DeVito, an American musician, actress, and singer, is best known for her collaboration with Meat Loaf on the hit song “Paradise by the Dashboard Light.” She has also performed in Broadway productions such as “The Pirates of Penzance” and “Smokey Joe’s Cafe.” In addition to her musical career, DeVito has appeared in films like “The Breakfast Club” and “Hair” and worked as a backing vocalist for artists such as Michael Jackson, Tommy Shaw, and Robbie Dupree.
Born and raised in Mokena, Illinois, DeVito displayed a passion for music and performing from a young age. She began her career in 1972 by joining the national company of Godspell. Later, she became the lead singer of the band Orchestra Luna and joined the cast of Jim Steinman’s show Neverland. DeVito has continued to be involved in various projects, including a recent collaboration with Ellen Foley on a song for Ellen’s album.
