While at the University of California, Berkeley, he averaged 14.0 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 4.4 assists per game. After retiring from basketball, Johnson transitioned into politics, becoming the mayor of Sacramento, California in 2008. He has since been actively involved in advocating for the rights and interests of NBA players.
