Mar Roxas, a prominent Filipino politician, has made significant contributions to the country’s economic growth, public-private partnerships, and disaster management strategies. Throughout his career, he has held various positions, including senator and cabinet member under multiple Philippine Presidents. Among his notable achievements are the establishment of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program and co-founding the Philippine Daily Inquirer newspaper. Additionally, he served as the Secretary of Trade and Industry. Roxas participated in the 2010 and 2016 Philippine presidential elections but was unsuccessful in both attempts. In an interesting turn of events during the 2010 election, he initially ran for president but later switched to a vice-presidential bid to support Benigno Aquino III, who ultimately won the presidency. Following a loss in the 2019 senatorial race, Roxas decided to retire from politics.
