He rose to fame as a regular cast member on the television variety series “Fridays.” Some of his notable performances include roles in “Jekyll and Hyde…Together Again,” “The Incredible Shrinking Woman,” “Robin Hood: Men in Tights,” “Dracula: Dead and Loving It,” and “The Jerk, Too.” Blankfield has also made appearances on “The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson” and “Married… with Children.” Widely regarded as one of the most talented comedians of his generation, Blankfield also owned a popular nightclub called Mark’s in West Hollywood during the 1980s.
