Mark Derek Foster, an American singer, songwriter, and musician, rose to fame as the lead vocalist of the band Foster the People. In 2010, their hit single “Pumped Up Kicks” brought him widespread recognition and a Grammy nomination. Before relocating to Los Angeles to chase his musical dreams, Foster battled severe drug addiction during his teenage years. He established Foster the People in 2009 alongside Mark Pontius and Cubbie Fink. Some of their other well-known works include the album “Torches” and the single “Sit Next to Me.”
