He was a talented American actor, director, and producer who rose to fame as a second-tier star in the 1940s and 1950s. Stevens is best remembered for his leading role in the critically acclaimed film noir “The Dark Corner.” He also co-produced and directed the drama film “Cry Vengeance” and other films such as “Time Table,” “Gun Fever,” “Man on a Raft,” “The Man in the Water,” and “Sunscorched.” Additionally, he directed episodes of popular TV series like “Peter Gunn” and “77 Sunset Strip.” Before entering the entertainment industry, Stevens showcased his artistic skills as a cartoonist and illustrator.
