An American DJ, record producer, rapper, and record label founder, Marley Marl is best known for pioneering the practice of sampling drum sounds and starting the Juice Crew. He produced tracks for LL Cool J, Eric B. & Rakim, and Big Daddy Kane, hosted the radio show In Control, and launched the podcast Legendize.
Marley Marl’s career began with an interest in electronica, and he discovered sampling by accident during a studio session. He is widely regarded as one of the most influential DJs and producers in hip-hop history and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2007.
