Matti Antero Kristian Fagerholm, known as Michael Monroe, was born on June 17, 1962, in Finland. This talented rock musician and multi-instrumentalist gained fame as the vocalist and saxophonist for the glam punk band Hanoi Rocks. In addition to his work with Hanoi Rocks, Monroe has participated in various side projects, such as Demolition 23 and Jerusalem Slim. Some of his most notable songs include “Dead Jail or Rock ‘n’ Roll,” “Trick of the Wrist,” and “Old King’s Road.” Monroe is recognized for his signature bleached blonde hair and makeup, which he has maintained throughout his solo career. He has collaborated with Axl Rose of Guns N’ Roses, even playing saxophone on some of their tracks. In 2023, Monroe celebrated his 60th birthday with a Hanoi Rocks reunion, marking the first time the band had performed together in over four decades. An interesting fact about Monroe is that he is the only guest artist to have appeared on two Guns N’ Roses songs.
