Michael Earl Schoeffling, an American former actor and model, is best known for his portrayal of Jake Ryan in the 1984 film Sixteen Candles. He also appeared in other notable films such as Wild Hearts Can’t Be Broken, Vision Quest, and Mermaids. In the early 1990s, Schoeffling retired from acting and pursued a career as a furniture craftsman. He has since gained recognition for his handcrafted furniture designs, which are sold through his woodworking company, Schoeffling Furniture. Despite his successful acting career, Schoeffling has declined several “Where Are They Now?” segments, choosing to focus on his woodworking business instead.
