Millvina Dean, the youngest survivor of the Titanic disaster, led an extraordinary life and passed away in 2009 at the age of 97. At just 2 months old, she boarded the Titanic with her family. Dean did not publicly discuss the Titanic until the wreck was discovered in 1985. As the final survivor of the tragedy, she declined to watch James Cameron’s film. Besides her Titanic experience, Dean worked as a British civil servant and cartographer. Notably, she was both the youngest passenger on the Titanic and the last remaining survivor of the sinking.
