Harry Fujiwara, better known as Mr. Fuji, was a celebrated professional wrestler and wrestling manager from Hawaii who rose to fame in the 1970s and 1980s. He managed prominent wrestlers such as Demolition and Yokozuna, guiding Demolition to three Tag Team Championship titles. In 2007, he was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. Mr. Fuji also appeared in films and TV shows like “The Karate Kid Part II” and “Walker, Texas Ranger.”
Inspired by Japan’s highest peak, Mount Fuji, during a visit to the country, he changed his name from “Mr. Yoshida” to “Mr. Fuji.” Before entering professional wrestling, he trained as a boxer and later became a wrestler in Hawaii. He then joined the WWWF, which later became the WWE.
On August 28, 2016, Mr. Fuji passed away at the age of 82. He was known for his notorious tactic of throwing salt in his opponents’ eyes, and despite his villainous character, he was loved by fans and fellow wrestlers alike. With a career spanning over 30 years, he was a five-time WWE World Tag Team champion and was posthumously inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2007.
