Nanette Newman, a British actress, author, and advertising icon, gained recognition for her role as Carol Van Sant in the 1975 film “The Stepford Wives.” She has also authored several children’s books and been a significant figure in British advertising for many years. Newman has appeared in nine films directed by her husband, Bryan Forbes, such as “Séance on a Wet Afternoon” (1964), “The Whisperers” (1967), “Deadfall” (1968), and “International Velvet” (1978). Additionally, she has been featured in the TV series “Sir Francis Drake” and participated in the Miss Television contest in 1961. Notably, Newman made her first screen appearance at the age of 11 in the 1945 short film, Here We Come Gathering: A Story of the Kentish Orchards.
