Natalia Lafourcade, a Mexican pop-rock, jazz, and folk singer-songwriter, has been a prominent figure in Latin America’s music scene since her debut in 2002. With 14 Latin Grammy Awards to her name, she is regarded as one of the most influential artists of the 2000s. Her self-titled debut album reached No.1 on the Mexican charts and achieved Platinum status, while her second album, “Casa,” recorded with her band Natalia y La Forquetina, earned her the first of her many Latin Grammy Awards. Lafourcade is also known for her hit song “Hasta la RaÃz” from the album of the same name.
Throughout her career, she has collaborated with various artists and released multiple albums, such as “Musas,” which pays homage to Mexican and Latin American folk music. Lafourcade also contributed to the soundtrack of the Pixar film “Coco.” Besides her musical accomplishments, she is a member of the music collective “Mujeres Trabajando” (Women Working), which seeks to provide a collaborative and supportive space for women in the music industry.
