Nicholas Pileggi, an American author, producer, and screenwriter, is renowned for his work on organized crime. He rose to fame with his non-fiction book “Wiseguy,” which was later transformed into the highly praised film “Goodfellas.” Pileggi co-wrote the screenplay for “Goodfellas,” earning an Academy Award nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay. He has authored several other books on organized crime, such as “Casino: Love and Honor in Las Vegas.” His screenwriting credits include “Casino” and “American Gangster.” Pileggi has received numerous awards, including the Edgar Award for Best Fact Crime Book.
