Nico Porteous MNZM, a New Zealand freestyle skier and Olympic champion, holds the distinction of being the country’s youngest Olympic Games medalist. At just 16 years old, he secured a bronze medal at the 2018 Winter Olympics. In 2022, Nico made history again as New Zealand’s first male Winter Olympic gold medalist and second overall by triumphing in the men’s halfpipe event at the Beijing Winter Olympics. Additionally, he clinched gold in the SuperPipe at the 2022 X Games. Nico is renowned for inventing the trick combination of back-to-back 1620s.
