Noor Jehan, also known as the “Queen of Melody,” was a celebrated Pakistani singer and actress born as Allah Wasai. Her illustrious career spanned more than six decades, during which she recorded an impressive 10,000 songs in various languages such as Urdu, Hindi, Punjabi, and Sindhi. Starting as a child artist, Jehan rose to prominence in the Pakistani music industry, acting in numerous films and singing iconic songs. Some of her notable works include the films “Anmol Ghadi,” “Chann Way,” “Dopatta,” “Paatey Khan,” and “Chhu Mantar.” In 1965, she directed and produced the successful Pakistani film “Chanway.” Her contribution to the patriotic song “Aye Watan Ke Sajeelay Jawano” further cemented her status as an influential figure in the Pakistani entertainment industry.
