Norman Nathan Lloyd, born as Perlmutter on November 8, 1914, was a versatile American actor, producer, and director with an extensive career in the entertainment industry that spanned almost a century. He was renowned for his roles in Alfred Hitchcock’s films such as Saboteur, Spellbound, and The House on Haunted Hill. In addition to acting, Lloyd produced the television series Alfred Hitchcock Presents and directed several episodes. His other notable works included roles in Dead Poets Society, St. Elsewhere, and The Age of Innocence. Beginning his career in 1923, Lloyd worked across various aspects of the industry, including theatre, radio, television, and film. He passed away at the age of 106 in 2021.
