Austrian-American Otto Ludwig Preminger was a renowned film director, producer, and actor, who gained prominence for his film noir mysteries, such as “Laura” (1944) and “Fallen Angel” (1945). He was also well-known for directing “Anatomy of a Murder” (1959), “The Man with the Golden Arm” (1955), and “Exodus” (1960). In addition to his film work, Preminger directed an episode of the TV series “Batman” (1966) and received an Academy Honorary Award for his contributions to the film industry. Known for his demanding nature and meticulous attention to detail, Preminger was also an art collector who often used his own paintings as set decorations in his films. Over his five-decade career, which began in the theatre, he directed more than 35 feature films.
