He achieved legendary status as a TV analyst for NFL broadcasts, where he formed an iconic 21-year partnership with John Madden, creating arguably the most famous sports broadcasting duo in history. Summerall covered 16 Super Bowls and was inducted into the American Sportscasters Hall of Fame.
