Paulo Coelho, a renowned Brazilian author, gained international fame with his widely acclaimed novel “The Alchemist.” First published in 1988, this modern classic has sold over 65 million copies globally and holds the record for being the most translated book by a living author, with translations in more than 80 languages. Coelho’s other distinguished works include “Veronika Decides to Die,” “Brida,” and “By the River Piedra I Sat Down and Wept.” He has been honored with prestigious awards such as the Crystal Award from the World Economic Forum and the Grand Cross of the Order of Saint James of the Sword. Coelho is also known for his social and political activism.
