Raymond Parks (June 5, 1914 รขยย June 20, 2010) was an American stock car racing team owner and a pioneer of NASCAR, known for his ownership of Red Byron’s car that clinched the victory in the first-ever NASCAR Strictly Stock Series championship in 1949. Inducted into the NASCAR Hall of Fame class of 2017, Parks had a diverse background, including moonshine running and constructing specialized airplane engines during World War II. Collaborating with aircraft builder Lee Gehlbach, Parks developed the Parks P-51 Mustang, which was utilized in the war. His contributions to the racing world and innovative spirit are still celebrated today.
