He gained widespread recognition for his humorous prank phone calls, in which he cleverly alters his voice to engage unsuspecting recipients in conversation. Smiley is perhaps most famous for hosting the nationally syndicated “Rickey Smiley Morning Show,” which is based in Atlanta. His other notable accomplishments include hosting BET’s “ComicView,” starring in the sitcom “The Rickey Smiley Show,” and featuring in films such as “Friday After Next” and “Baggage Claim.” In addition to his entertainment career, Smiley is also known for his philanthropic efforts, particularly through his foundation that offers scholarships to underprivileged students.
