Robert Vaughn was a versatile American actor, known for his role as Napoleon Solo in the TV series “The Man from U.N.C.L.E.” Throughout his six-decade career, he appeared in over 100 films and TV shows, such as “Bullitt,” “The Magnificent Seven,” and “The Towering Inferno.” He received an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor for his work in “The Young Philadelphians.” Besides acting, Vaughn was a political activist, author, and advertising spokesperson. He served as the chairman of the American Cinema Awards and was a member of the Democratic National Committee. Vaughn passed away at the age of 83 on November 11, 2016, due to acute leukemia.
