Moore successfully made his mark on the iconic character after taking over from Sean Connery, holding the record for the most appearances as Bond in the franchise. In addition to his Bond roles, Moore is known for his work in TV shows like “The Saint” and “Maverick,” as well as films like “The Cannonball Run” and “The Wild Geese.” Appointed a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador in 1991, Moore was knighted in 2003 for his humanitarian efforts. He passed away on May 23, 2017, at the age of 89 after a brief battle with cancer.
