(born December 2, 1986) is a Venezuelan professional footballer who currently plays as a forward for Turkish club Adana Demirspor and the Venezuela national team.
Vargas began his career with Caracas FC in 2004 and quickly rose to prominence, earning the Venezuelan Footballer of the Year award in 2008. He then moved to Europe, where he played for several clubs, including Club Brugge, Espanyol, and Newcastle United.
In 2015, Vargas joined KasımpaÅa, where he became a key player, scoring over 50 goals in over 150 appearances. He helped the club win the Turkish Cup in 2015 and was named the Belgian Pro League Player of the Year in 2009.
Vargas has also represented Venezuela at various youth levels and has been a regular member of the senior national team since 2006. He has made over 50 appearances for his country and scored 10 goals, including the winning goal in the 2011 Copa América quarter-final against Chile.
Off the field, Vargas is known for his charitable work and has established a foundation to help underprivileged children in Venezuela. He is also an avid music lover and plays the guitar and drums.
