As a defensive lineman for the New York Giants in the 1950s and 60s, he earned an NFL championship and numerous accolades. Grier also enjoyed a successful acting career, with appearances in TV shows like “The Man from U.N.C.L.E.” and “I Dream of Jeannie,” as well as films like “The Manchurian Candidate.” As a singer, he released several albums and even served as a bodyguard for Robert F. Kennedy during his presidential campaign. Grier, a Protestant minister, is also an author and has collaborated with Native American musician Joanne Shenandoah on an album promoting Native American rights.
