Sean Bernard Long, commonly known as “Longy,” is a former English professional rugby league footballer and the present assistant head coach of Wakefield Trinity in the Betfred Super League. He is considered one of the most outstanding British players of his era. Long is best known for his time at St Helens Rugby League Club, where he played from 1997 to 2009 and earned numerous awards, including the Man of Steel in 2000 and 2001, and the Lance Todd Trophy in 2004. In addition to St Helens, he has played for Hull F.C. and Wigan Warriors and represented Great Britain in international matches. Long has also pursued a coaching career, working as a skills coach for Harlequins and Leeds Rhinos.
